Week 8 – Settling Into My Routine
Well, it finally happened! I got my first win! After weeks of researching ideas, websites and publications, pitching article ideas, and filing in all these detailson my various spreadsheets, a small blog post that I pitched was accepted by a website for women writers. More than the victory of finally having one of my ideas accepted by a widely-read publication, the biggest thing about this small win was the knowledge that yes, I do know how to pitch articles, and my ideas are worth reading.
In order to be successful as a freelance writer, that’s the first huge step.
Okay, then, I CAN DO THIS. The next step is to use the formula that I mapped out and to keep trying. Lather, rinse, repeat, etc. I have pitched several articles to various other publications as well, so while I am waiting to hear back from them, I will keep pitching ideas out there until I start seeing sustainable results.
